Farm to Fork
With no pesticides of any kind being used California Fresh is taking initiative. Our goal of becoming Certified, as Local and Organic, has begun with the very important first step of using organic seeds as well as fertilizer. Making the transition to local and organic produce not only provides our guest with healthier and safer food, it also keeps our prices low for them as well.
By having our very own farm we can reduce the total time it takes to bring our produce from “farm to fork” in as little 48 hours (down from the average commercial produce time of 5-10 days). Along with having our own farm, our future packing facility will help with this goal.
Our transport vehicles are equipped with refrigeration, to keep the produce fresh upon delivery. We will continue to support and receive most of our produce from the local farmers we have been working with for years, yet be able to work with some core and specialty organic items. Be on the lookout for organically grown tomatoes, cucumbers, elephant garlic, eggplant, peppers and more!
